Ī„iannis Tsouloftas was born in Limassol. He holds five university degrees from institutions in Germany, England, the United States, and Cyprus. He began his professional career as a Project Engineer at a multinational company in the United Kingdom before joining the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). He was a member of the National Negotiating Team for the development of Natural Gas Infrastructure, a member of the Energy Crisis Management Team in 2011, and served as the spokesperson for the EAC. Additionally, he has been a visiting lecturer in the MBA postgraduate program at the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM). He has participated at international conferences and has published numerous articles on economic development, energy, water resources, and the management of Public Organisations. From 2015 to 2020, he served as General Manager of a private company. In 2020, he was appointed General Manager of the Limassol-Amathus Sewerage Board, and in 2024, he was elected Chairman of the Limassol District Local Government Organisation (EOA Lemesos). He envisions and plans a modern Regional Local Government Organisation in Limassol with a strong social conscience, a focus on economic development, and an environmentally sustainable approach.
